hehe.....yea pretty lame, I know. The chapter we were studying was on nutrition. Great stuff, going to read it over with Daniel because we need to wise up on our facts. =>
Anyway, we had a discussion post where we had to choose a vegetarian diet or one of the special popular groups described in our text. Talk about them and give suggested eating patterns to help achieve a healthy diet.
Boring stuff to most of you, but I chose college students as mine and it's a small little discussion. I just thought I should share the information that most people know, but still somehow forget. Here goes my post for school:
COLLEGE STUDENTS!!
I'm a big "eating on the run" kind of person. I've noticed that I"M NOT THE ONLY ONE running to the snack vending machines to suffice the growls in my stomach.
Here's a better solution (and cheaper in the long run!):
Take an apple, cheese sticks, pretzels and water or fruit juice with you to school/work.
Also, try real hard to actually EAT YOUR FOOD, this means put the books down and um....breathe, don't inhale your food, eat slowly, enjoy it. I know I'm not the only one there either!!
Something I found very useful was to EAT BREAKFAST!! I know you hear it a lot, but seriously. It's healthy and you'll be less likely to run to the vending machines later.
Another one to keep in mind is to drink lots of water and juices. Drinking soda all the time isn't going to help.

So yes, boring post, but I found the info useful to give to others. There's a whole page on college students and achieving a healthy diet in my text.
