Influenster Sweetheart Voxbox 2013!!

WAHOOO!!
I got my voxbox!! YES, I was one of the lucky ones this time! SOOO do you want to peek inside?
Check out my video unboxing this sweetness!! ♥♥♥

Subscribe to my Youtube, follow THIS blog, and my Instagram,  and you'll stay in the loop of these products and how I use them along with what I think!
I won't lie, I'm feeling pretty lucky! First one I'll try will be the deodorant because I stink because I actually saw commercials and was thinking of trying it out myself. Who knew I'd get one in my voxbox? Then by 3pm end of day, I'll wash my face with the olay system it included. WAY excited about that for sure! Then I'm going to give the "beach wave" style a try with the Not Your Mothers sea salt spray. That sounds interesting. Not too sure, we'll have to see how it goes.

OOTD:

Until Next Time!

Disclaimer: I received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.

Mindfulness Monday

Today's Mindfulness Monday will come from Rick Hanson's Just One Thing: "Take in the Good".

Good things happen and we often overlook them or they don't hold as much weight as more negative things. The negative sticks out. We remember it. It seems to be that we remember more negative than positive, or as I like to think of it...we pay more attention to negative things.
We consider "bad" things that happen to us to be something to learn from. We treat these experiences as a lesson. That is great, but why don't we often do the same for positive, good, or happy experiences? Why aren't those often treated as lessons? We can learn from those happenings, too.
In his article, Rick Hanson mentions we typically need a 5:1 ratio of positive to negative interactions in our relationships. It's amazing how powerful one single negative event is compared to a positive one. Why can't positive things hold more weight?
Here's how we can "Take in the Good" as Hanson puts it and give power back to good, positive things.
The way I see it, we need to pay more attention to good things!!
It may be hard to do it at first. We forget or the moments pass by quickly (all the more reason to treasure it). A way to give good moments the attention they deserve, is to start a grateful/happiness journal. Whatever you want to call it, here's the drill:
At the end of each day, think of 5 things that day that you are grateful/happy for.
They can be anything from you catching up with emails to trying a new recipe or even bigger more obvious things like graduating college. Whatever they are...pick 5 things from that day and list them. That's it. You can write them down on an app in your phone, program in your computer, your blog, old-fashion pen & paper, or maybe just take time each night to tell your partner before bed or give each of the moments a good thought at the end of the day.
However you do it, just DO it
It might be difficult at first, to recall 5 things. After a while you'll notice yourself noticing more of the positive things AS they happen, thinking about how you can remember this moment to write down later. You'll make more mental notes of the good in your life and you'll give them the punch they need for a fair fight against negative thoughts.

LOVE in our home is...

...anything to do with butts!! Serious though, "butt" is my name when he's around. Aside from that:
LOVE is one of us getting a drink for the other while they play video games
LOVE is understanding that the profanities yelled while playing games are not directed at you.
LOVE is grocery shopping together.
LOVE is Daniel taking the older car when it should be me.
LOVE is filling up the gas tank.
LOVE is working out together.
LOVE is understanding he's not much of a talker.
LOVE is Daniel understanding that I talk a lot.
LOVE is listening to me complain.
LOVE is listening to him complain.
LOVE is laying on the couch watching a show.
LOVE is dealing with the fact that he now has longer hair than me.
LOVE is Daniel buying me a muffin.
LOVE is working around his graveyard schedule.
LOVE is not kissing him on the lips when I just put on lipgloss/lipstick...
LOVE is crawling into bed with my freezing feet and Daniel just taking it.
LOVE is the two of us ♥♥

Haircut

I did it. I actually did it. I chopped my hair off and donated the long thing. I've always had long hair. This had to change because I was going crazy. It also goes along with my I choose for February, "try something new". Going short like this is definitely new for me! I did some digging and found a bunch of styles online, check the pinterest board: http://pinterest.com/gladyanne/hair/
I then dug more and found a place to get it cut. The ladies actually didn't want to do it. Some said they wouldn't. This one only agreed because I was donating the hair. She said that is one of two exceptions where she would cut long hair. The other being new moms.
My birthday came and I went down there with a printout of some of my fav cuts from my pinterest board. Then I took a deep breath and got it cut and styled. WOOT! The stylist was amazing, she took a look at my face shape, hair type, and sample photos when giving me her professional opinion about the cut. We agreed on something and began the adventure.

 Some pics from my instagram:
Some say the cut makes me look sophisticated.
All I know is it definitely makes me look my age.

Well, here's a video of the deed getting done:

Video shot by my mom :)
After the cut I went out on the strip and had a fantastic time. I even went to Gilley's and THE Mickey Gilley showed up and gave us our own special concert. What a great time.

Until Next Time!!

Back on the Seat

It's hard to tell in this photo, but most of the yellow bikes are claimed with keys, towels, water bottles etc...

I've skipped a week. A WHOLE WEEK of hitting the gym. Before I wouldn't think anything of it, but since I've been involved in a specific spin class I've taken missing a day very seriously. For serious. Today at 9:05am I arrived in the spin room. Daniel & I spotted some of the good yellow bikes (there weren't very many left) and claimed them as our own by putting our water bottles in them. The class doesn't even start until 9:30am. This instructor is THAT GOOD. No joke. I brought my book and read for about 15min until it was time to warm up. When that woman (no, not the one in the photo) walks in, the energy level shoots up like a rocket and you know you're in for a good ride. Within the first five minutes of her spin class you're sweating, feeling the burn, and realizing why every.single.bike. is taken up by 9:30am.
After this class you feel amazing for accomplishing such a killer workout. You also feel empty, no energy left and in need of replenishing fast. Therefore, we hit up our favorite smoothie place right after. Lucky for us it's close to the gym.
This spin class + emerald city smoothie = the best combo ever.
While drinking my smoothie I always feel freaking amazing. Daniel calls it our ritual and he's a big fan.
I will say, today that spin class killed me more than normal. It's amazing what missing one class can do (it's a weekly class on Friday). I was forced to miss out on my workouts and my classes at school due to 40hrs of required training at my job (which was also killer physically and mentally).
One way or another everything is back to normal and I died at the gym today, just how it should be. ♥

Until Next Time!!

I have a problem

Seriously. I'm addicted to shopping. It's my favorite thing. I hadn't gone in a week while and I was itching for it. After a really long day at work, I went straight to the shops. I hit Michael's first because that was my main target. I needed wanted a ton of stuff. Luckily, I had a 20% off everything coupon and they had a million 40% off sales happening. #WIN
After I spent $127 some money there, I hit up Target next door. Not the best idea. Anyway, spent just under $100 there and finally I called it a day.
What on earth did I buy?!??
Well here you go, I have a video of all my goodies! As soon as I got home, I sat down and filmed it.

February "I Choose"

February is in full swing!! Can you believe it?? I can't!
I LOVE February. It's my favorite month! SO many adventures are coming this year and many in this very month!! Well here is the "I choose" list for this month!
#1 is all about adventure! Anything goes!! haha this could be a new food, new exercise, new sex position..whatever. HAHA
#2 If you followed me on here for a while then you know about my juicing adventures! I posted what I thought, my recipes, everything. I loved it. Life got way busy with the holidays so I plan on returning to what feels good. Juicing.
#3 If you followed my January goals, you would see that I'm getting back into reading! Now...to continue that adventure, we need to finish a book!
#4 Here is something I REALLY need to uphold. I am so lazy on editing and publishing my photos. That doesn't work well when you're doing project 365!! haha Here's to catching up!
#5 I plan on making a post all about this one, so stay tuned!
#6 .....well, best of luck, right?? Third times the charm? whatever. Let's do this.....again.

What are your goals this month??

January "I Choose" Wrap Up

Some of you might remember THIS post about my monthly goals project!
Well, here we are in February and you might be wondering where my new goals are! I'll get to those later, but first I'd like to discuss how January went.
Here is the reminder photo:

So, how did I do???
#1 I have a calendar I printed out for this project. I plan to continue it for the whole year. Anyway, I printed a calendar and if I worked out that day I marked it with a highlighter. I'm proud to say I succeeded!!
#2 This was kind of too easy of a goal now that I'm active in project 365 again...anyway, happy to say I succeeded here, too!
#3 I was able to not only add a little to my savings, but also pay off my credit card! Can I get a Woot Woot!
#4 Here is where I wasn't completely successful. What I mainly had in mind for this was to put away all the Christmas junk and clean up/organize my desk area. Now, I did manage to put away all the holly jolly decorations, but I never managed to fix up my desk for school. =(   I shall not give up though! The goal just needs to be broken down, I think. Baby steps.
#5 This was a little bit of a cheat one as well (what? I wanted to start off on a good foot). I am currently enrolled in a children's lit class that requires a ton of reading. BUT my class also helped me get in good habit of reading and I started  reading for pleasure again!
#6 I did in fact make those tasty things! They are double chocolate mint cookies. Daniel was quite happy and suggested I make another "edible goal" for February. ;)
