Dads are great people. Mine is funny, loving, logical, sensitive, and even crafty in his own manner. This Dad has been known in our family to make riddles/scavenger hunt type adventures during some holidays. For example, he sent my mom and younger brother on a riddle scavenger that took them 3 hours and over 3 miles away from home.
He really digs this stuff.
However, it is rare that he is the one scavenging. So, we decided he can't have his gift so easily this year. We put him on a small scavenger of our own. This was no where near as extravagant as the crazy chases he's sent all of us on, but it was fun to see him on the other side.
His father's day card from us "smart ass kids" had the first clue and he was off. Our riddle/clues were not general for anyone to solve. We made them very specific to his personal experiences with the places or things where the next clue would be found.
Part of the hunt required him to go out away from the house and use his phone to send an image of the place, if that were correct, I would text him the next clue. All would eventually lead him back inside where his gift would be waiting.
Needless to say, it was a fun time.
